’Spick and span’ was top of her daily agenda.

In today’s edition of “Celebs: they’re a little bit like us!” the most powerful woman in Hollywood cleans up.

Reese Witherspoon may preside over a multi-faceted empire that includes her own production company, a fashion line and extensive advocacy work, but on Sunday she let the world know how important it is to take time for the things that really matter. Like cleaning your Walk of Fame star.

“I’m running a little bit late for work today but it’s really important, I heard my friend is close by,” the star and executive producer of award-winning series Big Little Lies told fans in a video posted to her Instagram story. “I want to go meet her and I want you guys to meet her too.”

Witherspoon then revealed her “friend” was actually the brass star embedded in the Hollywood Walk of Fame, that she received in 2010 for her services to entertainment. In a subsequent series of Instagram stories, she produced a tissue and began polishing the monument, whilst her friend filming the encounter laughed in the background.

“Now you’re looking good, girl!” the star of upcoming fantasy film A Wrinkle In Time exclaimed, before dishing out some sanguine advice. “And don’t you let people walk all over you. I know you’re on the street but don’t you do that. You’re a queen!”

She also posted a photo to her Instagram page, captioning it: “When you run into a friend on the street…”

A good lesson to kickstart the week with: never be afraid to shout about your own achievements.
