In a recent interview Reese Witherspoon has opened up about her divorce from fellow actor Ryan Phillippe.

The 38-year-old revealed her feelings on the aftermath of her divorce in her chat on American TV show, 60 Minutes.

When asked about the year that followed after winning her Oscar for Walk The Line in 2005, the actress replied that it had been tough and her divorce had a negative impact on her career.

“I got divorced the next year. I spent a few years, just trying to feel better. You can’t really be creative when you feel like your brain is scrambled eggs. Then I wasn’t making things I was proud of. I was just working. And it was really clear that audiences weren’t responding to anything I was putting out there.”

Not long after, the actress ended up on New Yorker magazine's list of washed-up people.

“It really hurt my feelings, really hurt my feelings,” said the actress, when asked about how she felt when she accidentally stumbled across the article.
