Quiara Alegría Hudes, a musical writer who was set to work with The Weinstein Company on the film adaptation of In the Heights, has also said that she no longer wants to work with the studio in the wake of the allegations against Harvey Weinstein.

Hudes co-authored the hit musical with Hamilton and Moana composer Lin-Manuel Miranda. In a statement on Twitter, she said she hoped The Weinstein Company would have “enough grace, in the wake of these revelations, to respect my stand as a woman, and to allow us to extricate In the Heights from them.

“In the Heights deserves a fresh start in a studio where I’ll feel safe (as will my actors and collaborators).”
