Do you remember December 1997 when young girls across the UK slipped on platform shoes and leopard print dresses and filled out cinemas to see Spice World play out on the big screen? Of course you do, because the British musical comedy – featuring Baby, Ginger, Scary, Posh and Sporty Spice – was an instant hit for fans of all things girl power.

Now, according to the band’s manager, a second film inspired by the Nineties’ biggest girl band is in the works. That’s right, another Spice Girls movie is set to light up our screens in 2019.

In a recent interview with Billboard, Simon Fuller explained that the as-yet-untitled upcoming Spice Girls film will be animated, rather than live-action.

“What’s coming next is that we are going to be doing lots of exciting things. We’ll be making an animated movie and there’s lots of exciting plans to come,” Fuller told Billboard.
