Festive frolics abounded last night (29 November) at the annual Christmas lighting of the Stella McCartney store on Bruton Street, Mayfair.
The event was attended by a host of famous names, including Jennifer Saunders in character as the much-loved Edina Monsoon.
Sweetie-darling "Eddie" was accompanied by former Spice Girl Emma Bunton, who will reprise her guest star cameo as Eddie’s client in Absolutely Fabulous, in a series of BBC specials to celebrate the show's 20th anniversary later this month.
Slipping comfortably into the role of party host, Eddie made a touching speech to the assembled guests, including Stella, her father Sir Paul McCartney, Kate Moss and Mariella Frostrup.
Eddie referred to Emma as "baby bunting" and shared her love for Stella, who will appear in an upcoming episode of Ab Fab.
Emma got her own back by quipping that she was there in the place of Saffy, who was not able to attend and babysit her drunken mother.
Both then indulged in a festive, if rather raucous, sing-along before turning on the Christmas lights.
Meanwhile, the well-heeled crowd - including Alexa Chung, Nick Grimshaw and Dame Kelly Holmes - tucked into festive treats such as Charbonnel and Walker chocolates, roasted chestnuts and pomegranate-garnished cocktails.
Alexandra Fullerton, Stylist's Fashion Director, said, "The switching on of Stella McCartney’s Christmas lights is one of my favourite events and symbolizes the start of Christmas in the fashion world. Stella’s close friends and family always attend too, so it really feels like you’re at an intimate private party. It’s great fun!"
