Stranger Things, Netflix’s 1980s-set sci-fi mystery series, was one of 2016’s biggest TV success stories. Recently nominated for a Golden Globe, it’s also rebooted the career of Stylist favourite Winona Ryder and made breakout stars out of its adolescent cast.
Season two of Stranger Things isn’t expected to drop until summer 2017, which gives us a lot of time to try and figure out what exactly is going on in Hawkins, Indiana. Hardly anything is known about what will happen next, apart from the fact that – no spoilers! – the season will pick up at the tail end of 1984, about a year after the events of season one.
On the press carpet for UNICEF’s 70th anniversary event on Tuesday, Brown was asked what she wanted to see happen with her character in the second season of Stranger Things.
“Hmm… I don’t know,” the 12-year-old actress said, before adding: “Something with Romeo Beckham?”
The middle son of David and Victoria, 14-year-old Romeo started modelling for Burberry at the age of 10, appearing alongside his godfather Elton John and Naomi Campbell in the label’s 2015 Christmas advert. Given that he looks not unlike his father in miniature, it’s not entirely surprising that he’s the subject of tween girl fantasies.

While it seems unlikely that Brown will get her wish (although if there’s anyone who could finagle a role for her son in one of the world’s biggest TV shows, it’s Victoria Beckham), some cast details for season two have been revealed.
Sean Astin – aka Samwise Gamgee in The Lord of the Rings and Mikey in The Goonies – will be playing Bob Newby, Variety reports. A “kind-hearted former nerd”, Newby went to high school with Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder) and Sheriff Hopper (David Harbour), and now manages the Hawkins RadioShack.
Newcomer Linnea Berthelsen will appear as an emotionally damaged young woman who suffered a traumatic loss as a child. Paul Reiser, meanwhile, will play a Department of Energy lackey whose job it is to “contain” the events of the previous year.
