The routine ends with DeJesus saluting the crowd, who give her a standing ovation, and hold up signs for a score of 10.

Although not the score the spectators were hoping for, judges awarded DeJesus a 9.925 for her routine – which is a personal best for the student, and meant that her team – which currently ranks No. 5 in the country - made it into first place for the competition against Utah.

According to The New York Times, DeJesus says that she wanted to end her senior year with a “bang”, but had “no clue” her routine would get so much attention.

“I love dancing and I love performing. That was the main goal – to go out and hit a good one for my team,” she tells Pac-12 Sports.
