Watch the newly released 'Gone Girl' trailer starring Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike

Published

This morning we told you that a new trailer for Gillian Flynn's Gone Girl was set to drop this afternoon. Well get excited, it's finally here.

While we've already seen the spine-tingling new posters, which depict chilling bags of evidence, the new trailer is just as satisfying.

Here we get to see Ben Affleck as Nick Dunne, who is suspected of kidnapping and possibly murdering his wife Amy Dunne (Rosamund Pike), to whom he has been married for five years.

Amy has suddenly disappeared on the night of their fifth wedding anniversary and all of a sudden Nick is the one everyone is looking to for answers.

Affleck looks suitably harassed and disheveled in this role, with Pike's voice over (in an impeccable American accent, we might add), reading extracts from Amy's diary.

The trailer mainly focuses on Nick's suspect appearance and the fact that he doesn't "seem" to be upset about his wife's disappearance. Although, as for anyone who's read the book, all may not be what it seems.

Later on we also get to glimpse Neil Patrick Harris who is playing Amy's ex-boyfriend Desi.

The film is directed by House of Cards' David Fincher and is set to be released in the UK in October this year.
