Female superheroes are being given our full attention this year. From Supergirl to Batwoman, the screen is (finally) set to be lit with fierce femininity.

And if Gal Gadot, has anything to do with it, then female superheroes, like Wonder Woman, will be claimed by many as an inspiration - including boys.

So when a mother, based in America, expressed concern in an online article over her five-year-old son wearing a Wonder Woman-themed backpack for the first day of Kindergarten, Gadot stepped in.

Taking to Twitter, Gadot shared the online story with her followers, praising Alicea for “breaking gender stereotypes”.

“Just read this article about breaking gender stereotypes by Katie Alicea. Such an important topic and something I believe in strongly. I hope Issac wore the crown and his WW backpack proudly to school.”
