It’s time to book your next trip…

Such is the power of Instagram, that these days the biggest pull of a destination can be rooted in how it will look in pictures.

From rustic hideaways with outdoor baths to destinations with some serious quirk - picking a place that will hike up likes on the ‘gram is at the top of many a millennial’s list.

So when our trusty travel favourite, Airbnb, released their list of most-liked listings on Instagram for 2018 - it’s no surprise that we were straight on the case.

Previous findings, like Airbnb’s most wish-listed properties, most remote experiences and most desired abodes have provided ample inspiration for our travels, so we’re particularly excited about the prospect of accommodation that’s as pretty as a picture.

From the azure blue water of Lake Wakatipu in New Zealand to the stark beauty of the Californian Mojave desert, this top 10 list has accumulated hundreds of thousands of likes and will have you itching to get away.

From 10 to one, prepare to have your wanderlust set alight as we take you through the best of what Airbnb’s Instagram feed has to offer.

10. The Triangle Siargao – General Luna, Siargao Island Philippines

This “lost in the jungle” a-frame cabin is surrounded by 1000 square meters of green tropcial garden but is also conveniently near some of the best surfing spots, with authentic restaurants and bars also being just a five minute ride away.

Just next door you’ll find the loft-house’s sister cabin, where the owners and their two dogs live - who by the way, will absolutely come and say hello.

Although the space is lacking high-tech facilities and fancy air con, it’s sure to make you feel connected to nature and a perfect place to fully relax.

Suitable for two guests, from £50 a night.

9. Exclusive Villa with Private Dock – Piano di Sorrento, Italy

Looking for all-out luxury? Well, you may have found it. Built on a stunning cliff on the Amalfi Coast, this swanky villa has private access to the sea, a salt water swimming pool set in the rocks and large terraces with 180 degree views of the coastal sea.

There are two bedrooms, which are positioned in a split level tower, and a traditionally decorated Mediterranean kitchen with vibrant tiling and a to-die-for colour scheme.

Suitable for up to five guests, from £312 a night.

8. Incredible Apartment and Views – Perledo, Lake Como, Italy

Imagine having your morning coffee looking out to those serene sights? We could definitely think of worse ways to start our day.

This balcony belongs to a two-bedroom apartment on Lake Como with its own pool, and of course has all the benefits of being on Lake Como. All the mod-cons are available and the decor is pretty laid back, but the best thing about this gorgeous listing is the unbeatable location.

Suitable for four guests, from £103 a night

7. Vintage Design and Contemporary Art – Trastevere, Italy

The key to a social media user’s heart seems to be a balcony, as another cute up-high spot makes it into the top 10. This time in Rome, this artistically-decorated flat is a must for creatives.

Filled with original artworks and carefully picked furniture from the Forties, if interiors are your thing, we think you’ll feel very at home here.

What’s more, this apartment has been verified under the ‘Plus’ section - which means Airbnb has approved it after an in-person quality inspection to ensure it meets high standards of comfort, quality, and style.

Suitable for up to four guests (one proper bedroom), from £65 a night.

6. The Boat House – New South Wales, Australia

This cosy boathouse can only be reached by boat, and is a five minute float away from Australia’s Brooklyn.

Set on the beautiful Hawkesbury River, this listing goes way above and beyond the label of having a waterfront view, literally sat on the riverbank. With a wood burning fire and heaps of blankets and good books, this is a super special place to get away from the ol’ hustle and bustle.

Suitable for four guests, from £65 a night.

5. Beautiful Riad Marrakech – Morocco

Terracotta pots, stylish cacti and earthy decor touches - it’s not hard to see why this picture racked up nearly 60,000 likes. And the good news is, the rest of the listing is just as lovely.

With your own pool and balcony, chilling out here is easy. Although the house is not serviced, there is a hearty breakfast on offer, and a caretaker who comes every morning to check everything’s running smoothly.

Suitable for six guests, from £152 a night.

4. Joshua Tree Campover Cabin – Joshua Tree, CA

Another Plus listing, this stylishly decorated cabin has unprecedented panoramic views and complete privacy.

It’s secluded spot means you don’t have to worry about close neighbors, so admiring those vast, unobstructed sunrises and sunsets can be enjoyed from the porch in peace.

Suitable for two guests, from £94.

3. Willow Treehouse – secluded, unique, romantic – Willow, New York State

This unique, ultra-modern space is well worth the trip to the middle of this forest in New York State. Built so it looks down across the swimmable pond below, it’s a getaway like no other.

Small, but very cosy, the abundance of large windows mean that wherever you are in this cute cabin you’ll have leafy views of the water and trees beyond.

Suitable for two guests, from £266 a night.

2. Lazzarella Room in Old Mill – Amalfi Coast, Ravello, Italy

Doesn’t this look like the Italian dream? We can imagine whiling away summer days here no problem. The ornate building is an ancient water mill and was built in 1621, so architecture buffs will love the original features.

This listing makes up a double room in the Villa Shangrillà, with interiors inspired by Seventies and Eighties, and there’s plenty of things to do nearby like open green spaces and the delightful Atrani beach.

Suitable for two guests, from £39 a night.

1. LUC 22 Boutique Alpine Retreat – Queenstown, New Zealand

Coming in at number one with almost 110,000 likes is this unbelievable, boutique dwelling overlooking Ben Lomond in Queenstown.

This alpine retreat has been designed in harmony with its natural alpine environment, with an exterior of corten steel which blends in with the iron color of the mountain ranges, while the interior’s light cedar walls are reminiscent of the surrounding forest, bringing the outdoors in.

Although guests get a bathroom, bedroom and lounge to themselves, the owner (who has been given the honour of superhost) also lives inside the building.

Suitable for two guests, from £188
