The hotel is full of various nooks to relax in after a day exploring Downtown, including a chic library-style area by the reception where I could take my laptop to work. This spot was surprisingly vibey, partly down to the hotel’s overall inviting and localised feel, but also due to its proximity to a mini ‘tuck shop’ style alcove that is constantly stocked with Oreos, Cheetos and many more snack-time favourites.

All of this – alongside Netflix on the TV, Korres beauty products in my bathroom and possibly the comfiest bed in LA – made for a truly relaxing stay. I spotted a few convenient and well-thought out touches in my room, like swapping a traditional iron for a handheld steamer that heats up in seconds – crucial for a stylist on the go.

A final mention must go to the helpful midday check-out time. In a world of seemingly earlier and earlier hotel check outs, leaving at 12:00 was the perfect hassle-free finish to my LA city jaunt. With just enough time to pop Trader Joe’s and the local 7-Eleven for a slushee. Then a final stop at In-N-Out Burger on the way to the airport, of course.
