It’s 10.36am and I’m sitting on a bench, eating a pain au chocolat and looking at a wooden door. The first time I saw this door, Emily was new to Paris and moving into the apartment upstairs. Known for its talking point costumes, will-they-won’t-they plotlines and Parisian backdrop, the show follows Emily as she attempts to navigate friendships, relationships and her burgeoning social media career. The city is, admittedly, not represented entirely realistically by the show (and has a controversial reputation among many Parisians), but it does offer a window into the City of Love that looks endlessly appealing.
