I Want That Room

Published

If we win the lottery this Saturday (please, money gods that be), we'll be booking a one-way ticket to the Grand Hôtel de Bordeaux & Spa. This sumptuous enclave in the heart of France is designed by lauded architect Jacques Garcia and its pièce de résistance is the splendidly ostentatious Royal Suite.

Fit for a king (sorry), this vast cavern of a suite comes with a giant bedroom and drawing room adorned with velvet hangings, tapestries and furniture inspired by 18th Century originals. The bathroom features luxury products from Anne Semonin and Rouge Napoléon marble. Step outside for the best bit, though; an 100 m² private rooftop terrace with Jacuzzi overlooking the Bordeaux Opera House. Why not order a bottle from one of the hotel's five wine concierges (who draw from their knowledge of iconic châteaux in the region) and settle down in the Jacuzzi to enjoy panoramic city views? We wish. Take a peek inside the suite, below.
