An experiential dessert festival is coming to London with rooms that smell like chocolate

Chocolate fiends listen up, there’s a whole festival dedicated to desserts coming and it’s got your name on it.
When we were little, there was nothing we wanted more than to step into Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and experience those lickable walls and river of chocolate for ourselves. Now we’re adults, and not much has changed.
We may not be able to promise you a canoe ride on a stream of silky cocoa, but we’ve found something that is potentially the next best thing.
The London Dessert Festival will be setting up camp in The Old Truman Brewery over the 17-18 August to treat those with the sweetest of teeth to a weekend of experiential spaces, scented rooms, delicious activities and mouth-watering tastings.
The event will be separated into four main zones, chocolate, patisserie, frozen treats and a vegan, with each acting as an opportunity to try a huge range of creative desserts, partake in workshops and see live demonstrations.
Contributing to the event will be a range of chefs, brands and restaurants from around London including Great British Bake Off Contestant Dan Beasley-Harling, Helen Clark of P.F Chang’s, Mallow & Marsh and The Connaught Hotel.
And while we don’t want to give too much away, some of the highlights will include a wall made of ice lollies and a ceiling of raining sprinkles, as well as chocolate infused tasting orbs.
In terms of what you can actually sink your teeth into (because that’s the best bit, right?), there’ll be freakshakes, bubble waffles, cookie dough and cocktail flavoured sorbet all on offer for the tasting.
And if you feel inspired after seeing all of these delectable delights and fancy testing out your flair in the kitchen, make sure you stop by the live demonstrations from some of London’s top executive pastry chefs and Le Cordon Bleu alumni.
Tickets start at £10.65 and include a complimentary dessert, but VIP tickets are also available.
Sweet dreams are made of these, eh?
