Let’s not lie to ourselves: when we go on holiday, we want to take good pictures.
Whether you’re looking to cover your Instagram page with shots of you sunning it up on the beach, or simply want to document the memories you create on your trip, photography is an important part of travel for most of us. So, when it comes to the place we decide to visit, it’s integral that the area both looks – and photographs – like a dream.
Now, thanks to some research by travel company Topdeck Travel, the most instagrammable seaside locations have been revealed: and they’re not the usual tourist traps you might expect them to be.
According to analysis of the company’s travellers, the top five instagrammable seaside locations from around the world include the sun-soaked cliff-faces of Manarola, Italy, and the stunning white buildings of Naxos, Greece.
So without further ado, here’s a little introduction to some of the most Instagram-friendly seaside locations around the world – just don’t blame us for giving you serious travel envy.
1. Manarola, Italy
Manarola is a small seaside town on the North-Western coast of Italy, famous for its spread of coloured houses which shine out from the steep rockface. It’s also one of the oldest and smallest towns in the Province of La Spezia – so it’s a must for anyone looking for an authentic Italian experience.
2. Naxos, Greece
3. Tulum, Mexico
4. Dubrovnik, Croatia
Besides the fact that parts of the hit TV series Game of Thrones were filmed there, Dubrovnik has more to offer than your average seaside location. When you’re done exploring the historic city, take a trip to one of the city’s well-kept secret beaches – many of which are located inside beautiful arching caves.
