The bride and groom will cut the cake... with a lightsaber

Published

Put your knife away. Forget about a sword. When it comes to cutting a wedding cake, we've found the best implement for it: a lightsaber. We actually stole the idea from a US couple called Suzanne and Luke, who did just that at their wedding in 2010.

The couple were the first to hold a reception at the Los Angeles-based Jim Henson Company Lot (extra points for that, guys) and in keeping with the Henson theme, they had replica Muppets, Gremlin table decorations and a wedding cake with a giant AT AT-topper. Only appropriate then, that they should cut it with a replica lightsaber, which Luke crafted himself. Want to do the same? He's created a DIY guide so we can all join in on the joy of pretending to be a Jedi knight. What a catch.
