Hands up who’s given their home a makeover over the last few months? You’re not alone: according to new research, 25.6 million Brits zhuzhed up at least one of their rooms during lockdown.
Unfortunately, that also means lots of unwanted homewares going into landfill. So to raise awareness of the joys of charity shopping for interiors, Barnado’s is opening a virtual pop-up shop this weekend. From tomorrow until 8 August, you can browse and bid on pre-loved pieces curated by award-winning interiors blogger Geraldine Tan (aka @littlebigbell), featuring household names like Le Creuset as well as covetable indie brands such as WA Green and Kitty McCall. Prices start at just 99p, and items will be sent directly to the highest bidders after the online store closes.
And because online pop-ups are like buses, this weekend also sees the return of Postable Pop-Up, an ingenious initiative by Manchester-based collective Curated Makers. From 10am tomorrow until 10pm Sunday, hundreds of creative businesses across the UK will be setting up shop at home and sharing images of their high-quality, small-batch products on Instagram under the hashtag #PostablePopUp. Prepare to discover your new favourite independent artists, designers and makers…
